Beaching, a different way

It's been a while since I posted on this blog of mine.  A lot has changed during my time away from blogging.

We are still making our trips to our favorite beach locations, but doing it differently.  With my type 2 diabetes, kidney disease,  and bladder cancer, there are  no more frozen margaritas,  no more beer, no more any of that stuff.  Now it's just water, with Crystal Light packet flavorings, and unsweetened tea.  The grand girls call it water tea!

We still have one son or the other join us on these trips, but we now have two granddaughters under the age of 5 joining us.  We now pack lots of fruit, and pouch drinks to keep them hydrated.

These little critters have helped unload the car, picked up their stuff around the condo, and have even acquired a taste for crab legs and shrimp!

Our stays at the waters edge are shorter, but so much more enjoyable. Lots of running from the waves, building sand castles, and stomping them down to nothing.  Occasionally the girls attempt to catch some of the birds.  I'm holding back on sharing  the secret of attracting more!

Its fun to sit back in my chair and see the youthful parents make the same mistakes i made years ago.  So many of the new beach going community do not have a clue about being beach smart, especially on red flag and double red flag days.  They are keeping the shore patrol guy busy on his drive bys on his four wheeler, blowing his whistle on occasion to get their attention.

My thoughts currently, are preoccupied with my upcoming cystocope in June. My last 2 resulted in having 2 surgeries to remove the tumors and also 2 biopsies to see if the cancer has entered the bladder muscle.  So far, all clear.

The spousal unit and I have already started planning additional trips once she steps away from full time employment.

Hopefully, I'll find more topics to put down here.  One day at a time.....
